Using airKrete for a retrofit means:
- Minimal disruption to your day-to-day activities
- No need to move out of your home
- No need to remove drywall
- No odours
- No ventilation required (no off-gassing)
- No hazardous waste
- No mess
- One-day installation (for most homes)
Almost every day, airKrete crews are involved in home retrofit projects. Here is a quick photo tour of an upgrade to a home built in the early 1960s in Toronto's west end.

airKrete installation trailer is a self-contained command post.
To start, small holes are drilled into interior and exterior walls.
There's no need to remove drywall.
Compressors fill the mixture with regular air--not other gases. High pressure pumps propel the airKrete mixture through the hoses to where it's needed.
airKrete is pumped, in carefully measured "pulses," to fill the space between studs.
Precision controls ensure consistent
amounts of airKrete are placed in cavities to be insulated.
Outside, small holes in the exterior walls allow airKrete to insulate around floors, a major heat loss in winter and cool air loss in summer.
